That same tread design also earns its keep shifting water out from underneath you, which counts for a fair bit when the weather turns on you mid-ride. Backing it all up is the new High Dispersive Full-Silica (HDFS) compound, with Maxxis claiming a 30% jump in wet grip and 10% more in the dry over the old formula.
